The Croatian mezzosoprano Bernarda Klinar moved to Vienna to pursue her vocal studies, where she quickly established herself on the local opera scene. She made her professional debut in 2022 at Theater an der Wien, where her performance drew the attention of the new team from Tiroler Landestheater.
Henceforth, she joined the theater as an ensemble member in the season 2023/2024, where she continues to grow her repertoire and has taken on notable roles such as Octavian in Der Rosenkavalier, Annio in La Clemenza di Tito and Olga in Eugene Onegin, each contributing to her artistic growth and showcasing her versatility.
During her time studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, she had the privilege of being taught by esteemed professors and singers, including Regine Köbler, Gabriele Lechner, and Angelika Kirchschlager. She also had the great honor of attending masterclasses with respected artists such as Adrian Eröd, Marga Schiml and Neil Shicoff, all of which significantly enriched her artistic development.
Besides her passion for opera, Bernarda has a profound love for singing Lied, where she finds a unique ability to communicate her emotions with her audience. As a member of an award-winning Lied-duo, she embraces this intimate style of singing, using it as a platform to express her true self and explore a range of musical expressions that resonate deeply with her.
